My name is Alif, the Marketing Specialist here at PaymentEvolution, and in this blog, I want to share with you some of our favourite podcasts we love listening to here at PaymentEvolution.

How I collected my “data”

First, in order to figure out what sorts of podcasts my team members listen to, I had to navigate the treacherous terrain of what’s called Microsoft Teams (aka send a message to our group chat).

(Yes, very very treacherous isn’t it?)

And a couple of minutes later, after making that post, I got some very interesting replies.

Meaning, my reactions to what my team members listened to ranged from:

  • “Ahh yes, that’s pretty cool.”
  • “Hmmm, I think I’d be interested in this.”
  • “Yeah, you’re pretty weird dude…”

I’m not kidding about the last one (read on to learn what that was).

First up, the guilty pleasure

Our Head of Marketing, Juliana, had a tough time admitting this but she – and I quote her exact words here:

“I love some good ol’ Tony Robbins in the morning”.

1. Tony Robbins Podcast

The Tony Robbins podcast is a perfect listen if you’re looking for expert advice on business, relationships, and health.

Personally, The Tony Robbins podcast is my “faith in humanity restored” type of podcast.

I always leave feeling so ready to take on life afterwards.

Case in point

I listened to an episode about a war veteran who got his arms and legs blown off from a landmine which lead him into a cycle of depression.

Here’s who I’m talking about:

Fast forward a few months (or years, I can’t remember) later, he’s now a changed man filled with gratitude and actually thanks the person who set the landmine there on the ground in the first place.

Pretty wild stuff.

If that’s something you’re into, be sure to check it out!

What the big boss listens to

This is a personal favourite from our mighty CEO Sam Vassa.

2. Acquired

Acquired is a podcast that explores how some of the world’s greatest companies are built, from interviews with founders to deep dives into how big companies like Eventbrite and TikTok grew to be what they are today.

When Sam sent me this podcast, here was my exact reaction in one line:

“That’s SOO YOU, Sam”.

If you’re into startups, scaling, and entrepreneurship – this podcast is perfect for you!

The fun one on our team

Of course we couldn’t have a favourite podcast list if we didn’t mention the podcast king himself, Joe Rogan.

3. The Joe Rogan Experience

This was a pick by Jessica, one of our Customer Success Representatives.

If you’ve never listened to a Joe Rogan podcast before, it’s pretty much Joe Rogan (a pretty down to earth and all-around fun guy) who gets into deep conversations and debates with all sorts of popular celebrities / controversial figures.

It’s a pretty fun podcast.

But here’s the thing, you see, Jessica is the fun one in our team and I couldn’t help but make a comment saying “asking for favourite podcasts is like giving someone a personality test”.

Here’s what Jessica had to say to that:

Go figure.

What the sales guy listens to

I’ve always been a bit curious about what podcasts sales people listen to during their spare time.

I mean, when I think of sales I think:

  • Hitting targets
  • Being in a competitive environment
  • Dealing with rejection

So I couldn’t help myself but ask Dustin, our Head of Sales, what his favourite podcast was.

4. UNSTOPPABLE with Kerwin Rae

Dustin is all about Kerwin Rae.

Unstoppable with Kerwin Rae is a podcast with a mission to help you overcome your limiting beliefs and become, as the title suggests, unstoppable.

I asked Dustin why he enjoys this podcast, here’s what he had to say:

Pretty solid for the Head of Sales, huh?

This is the weird one…

So, remember how at the beginning of this blog post I told you:

Well, it’s now time for the big reveal.

5. Other People’s Lives

Brace yourself for this one.

This was a pick by Maddy, another member of our Customer Success Team.

Personally, I’ve never heard of this podcast before – but seemed enticing enough with that sort of title.

So I did a bit of Googling to check out some of their episodes, and let me tell you, I was shocked.

I am now planning to binge this podcast for the remainder of this week.

Let me show you what I mean.

I did a quick skim on Apple Podcasts to see what this podcast is all about and here is what I found:

Excuse my language here but, OMG – am I right?

So basically, Other People’s Lives is a podcast about these two guys conducting anonymous calls with strangers over the Internet.

If you’re into whacky stuff then this is the podcast for you!

Thanks for sharing, Maddy!

Now for a big announcement

Did you know?
