The other day I was headed to the gym, you know, usual morning gym routine type of thing.

Truth be told, I didn’t really feel like going. But, I knew my trainer would’ve given me a tough time if I didn’t go… so, what the heck, I went. 

I drove up to the plaza, put my mask on, walked up to the front door, gave it a good yank but there was one problem.

It didn’t open.

I was confused. I already booked my time slot online so I should easily be able to get inside.

As I gave the entrance a good scan, a piece of paper hanging on the door instantly caught my attention.

Ahhh, it all made sense right then and there.

They were closed due to COVID-19’s second wave.

I’ll be honest with you, part of me was relieved I didn’t have to go to the gym, but as I stepped back and looked around the parking lot of the plaza – I noticed something a little more startling.

It was empty. 

No cars parked anywhere, stores were closed, and it felt completely lifeless. 

Now it really hit me.

COVID-19 wave two is officially here.

Now, for small business owners, it’s likely/probably only a matter of time until the effects of COVID-19 wave two hit your industry. Some businesses will close temporarily. Some will adapt. Some will get busier and have to adapt at the same time (I’m thinking PPE manufacturers).
